Un legado milenario en el norte de Chile...


El pueblo chinchorro se caracteriza por poseer la cultura más antigua del mundo, Se situaron entre Ilo (Perú) y Antofagasta (Chile) Lugar en el cual pudieron desarrollarse gracias a las condiciones climáticas debido a la costa y el agua dulce. Era un pueblo nómade debido a las condiciones desérticas de la zona, También desarrollaron técnicas de comercio, así como el trueque.

Eran considerados cazadores, por dedicarse a la caza de camélidos (Alpacas, llamas, guanacos, vicuñas) Fueron pescadores, aprovechando la riqueza de la costa.

El legado más importante que nos dejó la cultura chinchorro sin duda alguna fue su proceso de momificación para la conservación de los cadáveres, gracias a las diversas investigaciones que se han hecho se hay podido rescatar gran parte de sus características como la edad, el tamaño y su estilo de vida. Hoy en día existe mucha información de cómo era el proceso de momificación, teniendo en cuenta que existes tres tipos de momias las cuales su realización varia.

La delicada preparación de las momias

El misterio de los chinchorros es insoldable, una relación especial con la vida y la muerte les llevo a dedicar varios días a la preparación de cuerpos de hombres, mujeres, niños y nonatos para asegurarles alguna permanencia en la comunidad, más allá de su defunción.

Chinchorro culture

The chinchorro town quality is to have the ancient culture of the whole world. They was located between Illo (Perù) and Antofagaste (Chile), place where they developed thanks to the climate condition because of the cost and the fresh water. They were a nomad town because of the desert conditions of the zone. They also developed business tecniques like trade. They were considered hunters for being hunting camels (Alpacas, llamas, guanacos, vicuñas). Also the fishing subject they took advantange of the cost wealth. The most important legacy of chinchorro culture was the mummification process for the conservation of the corpse, thanks to the diverse investigations we can find age quality, size and life style. Today exist a lot of information of how it was the mummification process. Having on mind that exist three kind of mommy’s where the process of accomplish is diverse because of the delicate making of mommies.

The mistery of chinchorro is huge, an special relationship between life and dead took them to dedicate a lot of days making the bodies of man, woman, children and unborn to insurance some vacancy on the community beyond the death time.

The work in the head it has to be with some cuts in the head making rustic tools, organs cleaning and the making of masks of mud.
